As you may know, Aubrey de Grey is one of the leading lights in anti-aging research in the UK: and perhaps worldwide. He is a fascinating speaker and highly knowledgeable.

Ray Kurzweil has produced a fascinating essay reviewing every prediction he has made over the past 25 years.

Ray Kurzweil is the brilliant inventor and futurist who invented the scanner, the electric piano, and dictation software.

His predictions make good reading, as do his assessments of where we are now. I have printed out the 100+ page document and look forward to reading it on a train journey.

A brilliant man – and a fascinating glimpse of the future.

The singularity is a point around 2045 when computers will acquire full-blown artificial intelligence and technology will infuse itself with biology. So says Ray!

Anti-Aging expert – and genius inventor – Ray Kurzweil has been made the subject of a documentary film: Transcendental Man. This explores Kurzweil’s view that by the 2030s, it will be difficult or impossible to differentiate between artificial and human intelligence. As man evolves his intelligence will be augmented by that of electronics.

Well before that time, the length of our lives will inevitably increase, and the physiological processes of aging (Aubrey de Grey has specified that there are only seven of these – and has challenged other scientists to come up with an eighth) are conquered – one by one.

This film is a ‘must watch’, and is being premiered around the world during March and April 2011. I have applied for tickets in London, April 4-5 at the Science Museum.

Genius Ray Kurzweil has long predicted the time when a computer will be able to think at the same rate as a human.

He predicts that this time – which he calls the Singularity – will occur around 2045. It will have tremendous repercussions for humanity. Kurzweil explores the Singularity on this video.

A documentary is out of Ray Kurzweil, genius inventor and futurist. Kurzweil invented the scanner, the first electronic piano and dictation software, among many other things. Many of his predictions of the future have been proven correct.

He now predicts that machine intelligence will equal human intelligence around 2045. This has been called the singularity. To keep understanding the advances in technology, he further predicts that humans will choose to enhance their own minds using machine intelligence.
